Singular and Plural Nouns





            A singular noun refers to one person, place or thing.

              Examples – Pencil, Bag, Book, Shoe



            A plural noun refers to two or more persons, places or things.


              Examples – Two Pencils, Three Bags, Five Books, Two Shoes



            s or es is added to a singular noun to make it plural.


            Person – Persons
            Place – Places

            Thing – Things


            Example 1: Raju forgot to bring his pencil to the class. Sita had two pencils.

                           She gave one to Raju. Raju wrote with that pencil.

            Example 2: Jamuna carries a bag full of books.














                                           A bag                          Four bags
