Religious Festival
3. Gandhi Jayanti
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated to mark
the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It is
celebrated on 2nd October every year.
A religious festival is a time when we get
together, have fun and celebrate with our
family and friends. We greet one another and exchange sweets.Some of
the important festivals are Diwali, Holi, Eid, Christmas, and Gurupurab.
Deepawali is also known as the festivals of
1. Diwali
lights. We light diyas, candles on this day.
It is celebrated as a symbol of the voictory
of good over evil. On this day, Lord Ram
returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of
vanvaas/ exile. We wear new clothes and
distribute sweets to our friends and relatives
on this day.
2. Eid
Eid comes at the end of the month of
fasting called Ramzan. People o er
prayers at the mosque. They hug each
other and wish ‘Eid Mubarak’ after the
prayer. Sewaiya, a sweet dish, is prepared
on Eid.
